Meet your teacher and founder of a Different Ability
Marvette Washington is the Founder and CEO of A Different Ability, a nonprofit school serving children ages 1–6 with special needs and disabilities. Living with a legal disability herself, Marvette deeply values the power of patience and hands-on learning. Alongside a team of passionate volunteers, she leads with empathy and dedication to help every child reach their greatest potential.
Napoleon Jones — Licensed Grooming Specialist and Healthcare Support Professional. He provides free haircuts to the community and stands behind A Different Ability’s mission by offering inclusive services with empathy and care for individuals with special needs.
Johnathan Washington — Licensed Mechanical Technician and Environmental Systems Specialist. He contributes through annual back-to-school drives and is a dedicated advocate for A Different Ability’s efforts to empower children with disabilities.
Willie Thomas — Accomplished Author, Founder of W&K Investments, and active member of CCM. He proudly supports A Different Ability for its unwavering commitment to uplifting underserved children and their families.
LaQuita Anderson is a Human Resources Generalist with over 18 years of experience at a Fortune 500 company. She holds an Associate Degree in Business Management, a Bachelor's and Master's in Human Resource Management, and is currently pursuing a DBA at Walden University with a focus on retention, recognition, and attrition. She is also the author of Breaking the Chains of Abuse: How I Survived Domestic Violence. As a survivor, LaQuita is dedicated to helping others identify safe pathways out of abuse and educating loved ones on how to effectively support victims. A single mother and passionate advocate, LaQuita is committed to making a lasting impact through empowerment and awareness.
